Jeannette Pomeroy Parssi
American b. 1959

When I was expecting my first child more than twenty years ago, my mother, who is an accomplished artist, took me to her studio and put a paintbrush in my hand. I stayed there all night. I won't say that a masterpiece resulted from my efforts, but my life did change that night. I discovered a passion that has grown stronger with each passing year.

For me, painting is more than applying color to a canvas. It's putting my view of the world out there for others to enjoy, judge, and hopefully appreciate. If there is one constant with my work, it is my use of color. I have loved to draw for as long as I can remember, and have always had an appreciation for vivid colors.

Nature is a wonderful muse, and you will find in my work a love of the outdoors, no doubt cultivated by my mid-western upbringing. I grew up in Ohio and spent seventeen years in Chicago before moving to Florida, where I spent twenty years. I suppose I've come full-circle now, moving to Indiana in the spring of 2018.

It's not often that a person has an opportunity to follow their dreams, to dedicate their lives to something they truly love. I am fortunate to be in this position. Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoy my work.
